How can you involve local clubs, organizations, and foundations in your supermarket—and attract more customers to your store? Carrefour Gooreind partnered with us to implement the “B’tjes” concept. While shopping, customers could support their favorite club, organization, or foundation. A great way to give local community life a boost and strengthen ties with the neighborhood at the same time!

Following the success of an earlier sports sticker campaign featuring the local soccer club, Carrefour Gooreind also wanted to highlight other clubs, organizations, and foundations in the neighborhood. After all, why limit the campaign to just the soccer club when there are so many other wonderful local organizations?
The B’tjes concept gave clubs, organizations, and foundations—both large and small—the opportunity to earn additional sponsorship funds. And the best part? Customers could help by doing something they do anyway: grocery shopping!
It worked very simply. For every €10 spent on groceries, customers received one “B’tje.” They could drop this token into the tube designated for their favorite club, association, or foundation. The more “B’tjes” a participant collected, the higher the sponsorship amount they received. The total sponsorship amount was provided by Carrefour Gooreind and distributed based on the number of “B’tjes” in the collection tubes.
It wasn’t necessarily the largest participant that received the highest sponsorship amount, but rather the organization that was most successful in engaging its members. By actively participating in online challenges and encouraging members and supporters to donate “B’tjes,” even smaller organizations were able to raise a substantial sponsorship amount. Afterward, the participating clubs, organizations, and foundations received their well-deserved checks.
This created a buzz both in the neighborhood and at the supermarket. Participants encouraged their members and supporters to collect “B’s” at Carrefour Gooreind. As a result, new customers also found their way to the store. A win-win for the business owner and the local community!
From the initial preparations to the final touches: we’re guiding Carrefour Gooreind through the implementation of the concept.
Carrefour Gooreind took the initiative to engage and recruit local clubs, organizations, and foundations. We kept track of the registrations and regularly updated the business owner on the level of interest. With no fewer than 23 interested clubs, organizations, and foundations, there was plenty of enthusiasm!
After that, our studio got to work designing all the campaign materials. Once they were approved, we handled production so that everything would be ready for a flying start.
We stayed involved throughout the campaign as well. With weekly social media posts, fun challenges, and up-to-date standings, we kept customers and clubs enthusiastic. Because every “B” counted!
And the result? A satisfied business owner, enthusiastic participants, and new customers in the store. Carrefour Gooreind demonstrated how a simple, locally focused concept can not only support clubs, organizations, and foundations, but also strengthen the bond between your supermarket and the neighborhood.
Behind every successful campaign is a strong foundation. Discover which concept—or combination of concepts—was used to make this case a success.
With B’tjes, you and your customers can support local organizations and initiatives together. While shopping, customers receive a token—a B’tje—that they can donate to an organization of their choice.
By giving local organizations a platform in the store, you showcase what’s happening in the neighborhood. Customers can easily support their favorite club or initiative, which adds a little more meaning to their grocery shopping.
This is how you generate positive attention for your supermarket, increase customer engagement, and strengthen your connection with the local community.
